Preparation (Before Miqat)

Perform personal hygiene (clip nails, remove hair, trim mustache) and take a full Ghusl (shower).

Niyyah (Intention)

At the Miqat boundary, make the intention. If fearing illness, add the condition.

لَـبَّـيْك َ ٱللَّـهُـمَّ بِعُمْرَة

Here I am O Allāh making ʿUmrah

Talbiyah

Recite Talbiyah frequently and loudly (men) until reaching the Kaaba.

لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ، لَبَّيْكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ، إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ وَالنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ وَالْمُلْكَ، لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ

Here I am, O Allāh, here I am! You have no partner. Here I am. Verily all praise is for You, and every bounty is from You—and all dominion is Yours, You have no partner

Entering the Masjid

Enter Masjid Al-Haram with your right foot and recite:

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَسَلِّم، اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ.

O Allāh, extol Muhammad and send peace upon him. O Allāh open the doors of your mercy for me

The Black Stone

Start circuit at the Hajar al-Aswad. Kiss, touch, or point from afar saying "Allahu Akbar".

اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ

Allāh is the Greatest

Yemeni Corner to Black Stone

Recite this BETWEEN the Yemeni Corner and Black Stone.

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

[Our Lord! Give us what is good in this world, what is good in the Hereafter and save us from the torment of the Fire.

Maqam Ibrahim Prayer

After 7 circuits, cover shoulder. Go behind the Maqām of Ibrāhīm and recite and then Pray 2 Rakats (or anywhere in Masjid).

وَاتَّخِذُوا مِنْ مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلًّى

Take the station of Ibrāhīm as a place of prayer

Zamzam

Drink Zamzam water and pour some over your head.

Approaching Safa

Approach Safa and at the foot of Safā recite the following (only on this occasion) Quran 2:158.

۞ إِنَّ ٱلصَّفَا وَٱلْمَرْوَةَ مِن شَعَآئِرِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ فَمَنْ حَجَّ ٱلْبَيْتَ أَوِ ٱعْتَمَرَ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْهِ أَن يَطَّوَّفَ بِهِمَا ۚ وَمَن تَطَوَّعَ خَيْرًۭا فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَاكِرٌ عَلِيمٌ

Verily! As-Safâ and Al-Marwah (two mountains in Makkah) are of the Symbols of Allâh. So it is not a sin on him who performs Hajj or ‘Umrah (pilgrimage) of the House (the Ka‘bah at Makkah) to perform the going (Tawâf) between them (As-Safâ and Al-Marwah).1 And whoever does good voluntarily, then verily, Allâh is All-Recogniser, All-Knower.

Safa Dhikr

Each time you are on Safā, face the Kaʿbah and recite 3 times with hands raised

اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ لاَ إِلَةَ إِلاَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهُ • لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ يُحْ وَيُمِيْتُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَءٍ قَدِيْر لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيْكَ لَه أَنْجَزَ وَعْدَهُ وَنَصَرَ عَبْدَهُ وَهَزَمَ الْأَحْزَابَ وَحْدَهُ

llāh is the Greatest, Allāh is the Greatest, Allāh is the Greatest. There is none worthy of worship except Allāh alone, without partner. To Him belongs all sovereignty and all praise. He alone gives life and death—and He is All-Powerful over everything. There is none worthy of worship except Allāh alone, without partner. He has fulfilled His promise, aided His servant, He alone has defeated the confederates.

Walk to Marwah

Walk towards Marwah. Green Lights = Run (Men). On hill of Marwah recite upon it the same as you did at Safā.

اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ لاَ إِلَةَ إِلاَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهُ • لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ يُحْ وَيُمِيْتُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَءٍ قَدِيْر لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيْكَ لَه أَنْجَزَ وَعْدَهُ وَنَصَرَ عَبْدَهُ وَهَزَمَ الْأَحْزَابَ وَحْدَهُ

llāh is the Greatest, Allāh is the Greatest, Allāh is the Greatest. There is none worthy of worship except Allāh alone, without partner. To Him belongs all sovereignty and all praise. Return to Safā

Then return to Safā and recite the supplications again (second circuit). Continue for seven circuits, finishing at Marwah. Do not recite it on the last visit to Marwah.

Exit the Masjid

You may now exit the Masjid al-Harām (after completing seven circuits) with your left foot, reciting

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ سَلِّم اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِك

O Allāh, extol Muhammad, send peace and blessings upon him. O Allāh, indeed I ask You from Your Favour.

Halq (Shave) or Taqsir (Trim)

Exit Ihram. Men: Shave head (best) or trim his hair equally from his head. Women: Cut fingertip length.
